Spiritual Religious Use
The following are examples of some of our religious
use ceremonies and practices. Religious use is restricted to temple
members who have attained the minimum of 18 years of age and have
completed basic religious studies of the temple.
1) Sacred Smoking Circle: Also called the Common Communion of
People. This ritual is in deference to 30 years of religious and
governmental suppression. Clergy must give prayer. Participating members
stand or sit in a circle and consume/smoke marijuana. The Peace Pipe must be passed clockwise to symbolize the passage of time.
Many circles are often commenced at 4:20am/pm to honor those who have been
suppressed by Illegal Search and Seizure (Police Code 420). Usually each
member of the circle consumes about 1 gram of sacrament during this
ritual. With each inward toke we take into ourselves the reality of a
better future and with each exhalation, we blow away negative energies.
Each circle is concluded with Food and Drink, prayers and contemplation.
The circle itself is a symbol of never-ending communion and fellowship.
2) The Vision Quest: The clergy or member is purified by fasting
for one (3) days. Water and hydration are vital during this period.
Participant must not partake of sacrament for this week of fasting.
Participant is then brought to a remote area designated for such use by
the Temple, to partake in Sacrament, water and music. Participants will
experience a form of Enlightened mind that is special and unique, often
having sincerely deeply meaning personal transitions of consciousness
and Enlightenment. Updated
3) Blessing of Meals: Sacrament is consumed before each meal,
giving thanks to our creator for providing a bountiful harvest. The
sacrament will not only aid in the appetite, but in the fundamental
reception and incorporation in the giving of thanks into the spirit,
mind and heart. 4) Blessing of Home: Sacred
Smoking Circle followed by prayer and contemplation. This may be
completed in a central area of the home usually followed by food and
drink.
5) The Holy Anointing: The clergy are ordained
using Holy Anointing Oil made of the Divine Sacrament. The oil is poured
over the face. This ritual induces the closest union between people,
Mother Earth and the Pure One and is held is highest regard. This ritual
includes music, feasting and prayer.
6) Honoring the Deceased: The Sacred Smoking
Circle is formed. This may also be performed in private as this is a
very personal ritual of great spiritual and psychological
importance. With each inward toke we remember the best of those we have
lost and with each exhalation we send our Love and prayers to them,
carried by the Divine Smoke. We thank Mother Earth and the Pure One for
giving us such a wonderful opportunity and recognize that death is not
the end of life. Death is the great ascension of purest Enlightenment,
where those we honor shall commune with the Pure One in Mother Earth
Garden. We will see our Honored Friends and Family when we attain
such bliss.
