Drug Dealers "Fear" the Temple!
Rumors are spreading that drug dealers are scared that
our little Temple might drive them out of business! They have good cause
to be concerned. Responsible Temple Members do not use drugs. Our
sacrament is not a drug, it is a Holy Medicine and Spiritual Tool that
brings us together. Responsible Spiritual use will take a market share
away from drug dealers. If our Temple grows large enough, we can
actually disrupt the black market, forcing drug dealers out of business.
Drug dealers would have to choose to sell harder drugs
in order to keep up enough profits to survive. This exponentially
increases their visibility. Because they have to deal with a new and
more paranoid crowd of drug abusers. Hard drug abusers are prone to
random acts of stupidity and draw attention to themselves easily. This
will inevitably lead to more arrests and safer, more responsible
streets. Those drug dealers who simply choose to retire before this kind
of tragedy occurs will also add numbers to the amount of dealers out of
business.
Safer communities and a decrease in drug trafficking are
measurable results in the War on Drug Abuse. Intolerance and
poverty are weapons of mass destruction. We must make sure we help
take care of each other's needs. If we can give a little time and
effort, I believe people won't have to turn to selling drugs to make
ends meet. Community support and involvement is critically important.
We've tried imprisonment and harsh fines for 35 years.
It hasn't worked as a deterrent yet so I don't think it ever will. But
if we hit them where it counts, right in the wallet, it will reverberate
throughout our State and send a message to drug dealers to either stop
perpetuating the cycle of drug abuse that is destroying our communities,
or get serious about their criminal career so we can throw them behind
bars.
